History of Hiap Shing

Hiap Shing began as a staple provision supplier at a time when the first step of Singapore’s economic miracle started to take root.  As economic development grew, infrastructure and building construction activities, shipping and logistics services grow in tandem.

Hiap Shing seized on these growth opportunities, and in 1976, three new companies were incorporated.

Hiap Shing Construction Pte Ltd provided project excavation and building expertise, heavy tractor and truck services to the booming construction industry.

Refinery construction projects in Singapore’s offshore island, like Pulau Bukom, created shipping and logistic needs.  The company started to build flat top barges and tug boats.
Hiap Shing Shipping Pte Ltd  became the operating arm for these vessels.

Hiap Shing Hardware and Machinery Pte Ltd provided heavy machinery leasing, repair and maintenance services.
